What are crypto whale alerts?

Crypto whale alerts are real-time notifications triggered when large Ethereum wallets execute significant trades. Deep Blue Alpha tracks thousands of whale wallets on-chain and sends alerts via Telegram, push notification, or email when these wallets swap tokens on DEXes, move funds to or from exchanges, or show coordinated buying or selling patterns.

How do real-time whale alerts work?

Deep Blue Alpha monitors every block on Ethereum for transactions involving tracked whale wallets. When a whale executes a DEX swap, deposits to or withdraws from a centralized exchange, or triggers a conviction scoring threshold, the system generates an alert and delivers it to your configured channels within seconds of the on-chain confirmation.

What is the difference between exchange flow alerts and DEX swap alerts?

Exchange flow alerts fire when a tracked whale deposits tokens into or withdraws tokens from a centralized exchange such as Binance or Coinbase. DEX swap alerts fire when a whale swaps one token for another on a decentralized exchange such as Uniswap. Both signal different types of whale activity — exchange flows often precede large sells or position building, while DEX swaps reflect immediate on-chain trading.

What is conviction scoring in whale alerts?

Conviction scoring measures the strength of a whale trade based on factors such as position size relative to the wallet, whether multiple whales are buying or selling the same token simultaneously, and recent trade history. Higher conviction scores indicate trades where whales have committed a larger share of their portfolio or where multiple independent wallets converge on the same token.

Which delivery channels are available for whale alerts?

Deep Blue Alpha supports six alert delivery channels: Telegram (via the @DeepBlueAlphaBot), browser push notifications, email, Discord, Slack and webhooks. Each channel can be configured independently with different alert types and thresholds, so you can receive high-priority alerts on Telegram while batching lower-priority notifications into email summaries.

Alerts — Setup & Requirements

How to receive alerts on every device

📱 Telegram Most reliable · any device

Toggle Telegram on and press Connect — you'll get a one-time code.
Open @DeepBlueAlphaBot and send /connect YOURCODE.
Done — alerts land in your Telegram DM on phone and desktop, even when your browser is closed.

🔔 Browser Push

Push needs three things all enabled:

Allow in the browser — toggle Push on and click Allow when your browser asks.
Browser running — desktop push arrives even with the tab closed, as long as the browser is open in the background.
OS notifications on — your operating system must let the browser show notifications (Focus / Do-Not-Disturb must be off).

macOS: System Settings → Notifications → your browser → allow; turn off Do Not Disturb / Focus.

Windows: Settings → System → Notifications → turn on for your browser; turn off Focus Assist.

iPhone / iPad: open deepbluealpha.io in Safari → Share → Add to Home Screen, open it from that icon, then allow notifications. (iOS web push only works from the installed home-screen app.)

Android: allow notifications when Chrome asks — no extra steps.

Browser push is the only channel the operating system can restrict. If you want alerts that reach you everywhere, connect Telegram as well — it is unaffected by any of this.

Blocked notifications on iPhone can only be undone in iOS Settings. Once you tap “Don’t Allow”, the app cannot ask again. Go to Settings → Notifications → Deep Blue Alpha → Allow Notifications, then come back and toggle Push. Also check that Focus / Do Not Disturb is off — it silences banners even when permission is granted.

Hearing a ding but seeing no banner? The Sound toggle at the top of this page beeps in-page when activity fires — that is not a system notification. For real OS banners you must switch Push on here and click Allow in the browser prompt (that registers the subscription). Also confirm your browser's macOS notification style is set to Banners, not None.

No prompt appears when you toggle Push? Chrome often shows a small bell icon in the address bar instead of a popup — click it and choose Allow. If notifications are blocked, click the lock/tune icon left of the URL → Site settings → Notifications → Allow, then reload and toggle Push again.

Toggle Email on to receive alerts at your account address (verify your email first). Email is throttled to 1 alert per day (unlimited on the Whale tier), plus the once-a-day watchlist digest.

Alerts post straight into a Discord channel as a rich embed. No bot to install — you create the webhook, we post to it.

In Discord, open Server Settings → Integrations → Webhooks and click New Webhook.
Pick the channel the alerts should land in, then press Copy Webhook URL.
Back here, press Connect on the Discord card and paste the URL. We save it and immediately send a test.

Needs Manage Webhooks permission on the server. The URL looks like https://discord.com/api/webhooks/… — we only accept that form.

Treat the URL like a password. Anyone holding it can post to your channel. We store it, POST to it, and never display it again — only the host and last four characters. Delete the webhook in Discord to revoke it instantly.

Alerts arrive as a Slack message in whichever channel you choose.

In Slack, go to Apps → Incoming Webhooks → Add to Slack.
Choose the destination channel and press Allow.
Copy the generated Webhook URL, then press Connect on the Slack card here and paste it.

The URL looks like https://hooks.slack.com/services/… — we only accept that form. Your Slack admin may need to approve the Incoming Webhooks app first.

Treat the URL like a password. We store it, POST to it, and never display it again. Revoke it from the Slack app config at any time.

Point us at any HTTPS endpoint and we’ll POST the raw alert as JSON — route it into your own bot, spreadsheet, trading script, or n8n/Zapier flow.

Stand up an endpoint that accepts POST with Content-Type: application/json.
Press Connect on the Webhook card and paste its URL (HTTPS only).
We send a test immediately — check your logs for a 2xx.

Requests carry User-Agent: DeepBlueAlpha/1.0, time out after 10 seconds, and are never retried — return 2xx fast and queue the work on your side.

HTTPS only. Plain http://, localhost and private-network addresses are rejected. Your endpoint is publicly reachable, so authenticate by putting a secret in the URL path or query string.

🌙 Quiet Hours & limits

Set a do-not-disturb window (in your timezone) under the channels — alerts are held during those hours instead of waking you.

Per channel: every channel is metered separately, so a dead webhook can never eat your Telegram quota.

One per transaction: a single whale trade sends at most one message per channel, however many of your alerts it matches.

Priority Alerts (Whale tier): no hourly limits — your alerts skip the rate limiter entirely.
