Questions
What are crypto derivatives?
Contracts that track a coin's price without holding the coin. Most here are perpetual futures, where a trader goes long or short, usually with leverage. They show how whales are positioned, while our Ethereum pages show what whales actually buy, sell and hold.
Why only these markets?
We can only track markets that publish each wallet's positions. Large exchanges such as Binance don't show who holds what, so individual whale positions there can't be seen.
Are these the same whales as your Ethereum whale list?
Mostly not. Each market has its own whale rule, and only some wallets appear on both. Those wallets are marked, and derivatives positions are never added to our Ethereum totals.
What counts as a whale on Hyperliquid?
A whale here is a Hyperliquid account with $1M or more that has traded, leaving out accounts that never traded (system, vault and spot-only accounts) and market makers, meaning accounts whose monthly volume is over 100 times their balance. Positions are read about every 5 minutes from Hyperliquid's public data, and only main-market perpetuals are covered.
What counts as a whale on GMX?
A whale here is a GMX account on Arbitrum with $100K or more in open positions. GMX has no public ranking of account balances, so the rule is position size. Positions of $10K or more are read about every 5 minutes from GMX's public data. A wallet's longs and shorts in one coin are netted, and its positions in different pools for one coin are combined.
Is Deep Blue Alpha connected to these markets?
